The Volvo PV544 alias "Katterug" (second version) is a passenger car produced between 1958 to 1965 by Volvo.
The PV544 was produced in parallel with the Amazon alias "Katterug" (second version). Although the Amazon was intended as a successor to the popular Volvo PV444, which was a true "people's car", the Amazon proved too luxurious and (thus) too expensive for many PV444 drivers. As an interim solution, Volvo came up with the PV544. It was not until 1965 that the 544 was relieved by the Amazon Favorit, a "stripped-down" version of the Amazon.
