M3 Half-Track - 41st Armored Infantry 2nd Armored Division Normandy D-Day
One of the main requirements of the modern battlefield is having mobile infantry units to support their heavy armor, both to protect the tanks and to make any territorial gains. During World War II, the Allies' best-known armored personnel carrier was the M3 Half Track vehicles, which were large enough to carry a fully armed team of 12 troops and protect them from small arms and shrapnel. Fast and extremely mobile, some 53,000 of these vehicles were built in various combat configurations, which proved to be one of the most useful armored fighting vehicles of the war.
