Chevrolet Nomad 1957
In reality, the Chevrolet Nomad, classified as a two-door sports car, had a relatively short production run. It was introduced as a concept car in 1954 and went into full production a year later. The Oxford model was based on the second generation cars launched by Chevrolet (General Motors) in 1957. The Nomad then looked more like the Chevrolet Bel Air, with long tail fins bearing the Bel Air name, a redesigned dashboard and front end and more muted colour schemes. The two-tone option continued to dominate both inside and outside. In terms of performance, the car had a 4.3L V8 engine, but at $2571, it was considered one of the most expensive Chevrolet cars at the time, so sales were very disappointing. In 1958, it was fully merged with the Bel Air name.
